Purchasing card account

The Barclaycard Business Purchasing Card is a streamlined solution for managing a wide variety of purchases.

Nominated staff will be issued with a VISA Purchasing Charge Card, each with monthly and per transaction spending limits. You can also restrict individual cardholders to individual trade categories, e.g. office stationary or equipment.

Productivity gains are realised by empowering staff to purchase directly, without compromising levels of corporate control. Experienced staff can concentrate on higher value purchases with strategic importance to your organisation.

Detailed information flows through to your organisation. You can analyse expenditure at card, company and group level. Planning cash flow becomes a simpler exercise, tracking expenditure easier and individual supplier value can be assessed more easily.

Each time a Purchasing card is used to buy good or services from a VAT capable supplier, the data attached to each transaction includes enhanced VAT information.

HM Revenue & Customs accepts these reports as sole evidence of VAT, and therefore your organisation does not have to keep additional copies of paper invoices or receipts for the purpose of processing VAT.

Your organisation can choose to receive data in electronic format to allow direct integration with your business systems (such as expense reporting software).

• 'Enhanced Management Information Tool' (EMIT) for flexible, easy to use reporting options
• 'Electronic VAT Archive' (EVA) to help reduce processing costs by archiving VAT data electronically, and for detailed reports on the VAT information

If you run an electronic procurement system, Barclaycard Business will work in partnership with your chosen e-procurement and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) supplier to allow keying, embedding and lodging of card details into your systems.
